The Journey
Dr. Ali is a Diplomat of American Board of Family Medicine. She completed her postgraduate residency training in Family Medicine in Texas in 2017 by attending the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and earned and maintained her board certification in Family Medicine since then. She earned her Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery from the University Of Baghdad in 2001. After her graduation, she practiced international medicine as a general practitioner from 2001-2005. After completing her residency training, she mainly practiced emergency medicine and provided emergent care to patients at different facilities throughout Texas. She participated in Research and Quality Improvement Project for Diabetes Management Standard of Care in 2016, in collaboration with other researchers. She is most proud of having received the award for Dean James J. Young Research Day award for poster presentation at Passport 2015 by UTHSCSA: A Journey through basic & clinical research, Quality improvement and patient safety. The QI project was a collaborative project with other medical residents. Dr. Ali was drawn to family medicine because of the broad scope of medical care provided. She has developed special interest in Urgent care, Emergency medicine, and Hospital medicine. Her latest interest is to focus on weight management as she had struggled with weight loss. She is dedicated to help her patients reach their healthy weight and achieve their goals. She feels that our lives are made complete through serving others.
